Moghul's Buffet

I just got back from a sort of forced vacation (you can't work as a substitute when school's out)!  It was a nice time.  Good fellowship, fun people, yummy food.  This was me trying Indian food for the first time (mmmm, delicious!)

And this was me about 6 hours later....

Ok, now watch this video a few more times and that will be exactly how I spent my last night there.  Thanks Sara & Marshall, for putting up with my miserable company, lol.

So, my NEW New Year's Resolution:  Never, ever, EVER eat Indian Food, ever again.  Incidently, no one else got sick (thank God)!

New Year - New Plans

Well, it’s been a few months, which means it’s time for me to blog again.  Can you tell I just haven't gotten into this blogging....yet.  I know you all (yes, all 8 of you) are deeply saddened and have felt unimaginably deprived without my two cents in your lives.  I started this blog about a year ago, after spending the New Year with my good friend, Laura, and being super motivated and inspired (she’s that kind of friend).  Her family does this fun New Year’s collage thing and I got in on it since I was visiting.  The collage got completely beat up in my bag, and then my closet, so please excuse the horrible picture..

Now, I’ll be honest.  At one point last year I found this collage at the bottom of my closet, looked at all the things I was NOT accomplishing, and said, “effing poster!” and shoved it in the trash.  Clearly, I was having a rough day, lol.  Anyways, let’s review last year’s resolutions and see how I did:
1.  Move.  Mom and I did move into a new house…not exactly what I had in mind.
2.  Keep in touch with friends/family.  Fail.  Obviously.
3.  Do all those hikes I never did.  I went hiking!  Twice =(
4.  Stay organized.  Ok, I’ll give myself this one.  Dirty laundry on my floor excluded.
5.  Don’t be in a rush.  I think I’m being pretty patient….sort of.
6.  Do more with my artwork.  Not as much as I was hoping, but not bad.  I’ll take a half a point.
7.  Get a puppy.  Hmmm.  I guess I  forgot the pre-reqs of “get a real job” and “get your own place to live”.
8.  Graduate & get my teaching credential.  Ok, THAT is a pretty big one I can check off!  Yay!
9.  Keep my car clean.  I HAVE done significantly better this year =)
10.  Get fit.  No.  Just….no.

Looking back, I think it was a really mixed up year.  Lots of changes and challenges, but lots of victories and successes, too.  I’m happy and content where God has me, but not satisfied to just….settle.  I'm excited for big changes this year and to find out what they are!  I’ve got some more personal resolutions this year, ones that will help me work on my relationship with God, friends, and family.  So, here’s to 2013 and seeing what God's got planned!
